Steamboat Springs is a great place to purchase luxury golf homes because we’re located at 6900 ft.–thousands of feet lower than most Colorado resorts. What that means to Steamboat Springs real estate buyers is the snow melts earlier in the spring and comes later in the fall so you can spend more time on the fairways.
Steamboat Springs has 3 public or semi-private golf courses and one private course. Steamboat’s public courses are Haymaker, Steamboat Golf Club, and the semi-private Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club (formerly the Sheraton Golf Club).
Haymaker is a beautiful course located east of town with beautiful views of the ski mountain and valley. It is fairly flat, so it’s easy to walk–something locals like to do. You won’t find homes around the golf course, so you’ll have to get in your car to play here, but the views and challenge are worth it.
Plus, you’ll be amazed how far your ball goes at a higher altitude!
Steamboat Golf Club is a small, public 9-hole course west of Steamboat. It’s a good place to practice your short game.
Rollingstone Ranch Golf Club is framed by luxury golf homes in The Sanctuary, Fairway Meadows, and Fairway Place. These golf course homes and townhomes are perfect for entertaining guests outdoors after a round of golf.
Steamboat Springs also has the private Catamount Ranch Club. Catamount combines golf with water activities in two separate but beautiful areas of Steamboat. Catamount Ranch Club has a Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course and a 530-acre private lake east of Steamboat Springs. The course is built on a hillside and has spectacular views in all directions. The Catamount golf course is spread out so you’ll need a cart, but you’ll love the incredible scenery and varied terrain.
Catamount has 25 homesites of 6-8 acres. They are nicely spread over the 710-acre Catamount golf course, which makes Catamount the lowest density golf club in the West.
