According to USA Today, “top-tier homes have lost 38% of their value since prices peaked in 2006, while prices for bottom-tier homes have dropped 63% since peaking in 2007.” Steamboat Springs luxury homes have also seen prices hold up better than entry level homes even though the luxury market represents a smaller percentage of sales compared to previous years. For the true value-seeker, Steamboat luxury foreclosures are just about gone (although who knows if we’ll see the ominous Second Wave we read about). Since 2010, all bank-owned properties over $1M have sold except for a newly listed home in Anglers Retreat.
